Whether you’re just hearing about Reiki or you’re a practitioner, there may be some things that you’ll find surprising about this fascinating modality.
If you have a health savings account, you can probably use it to pay for your Reiki sessions. This means you won’t be paying income tax on earnings you spend on your sessions. In fact, chances are you can also use the account for Polarity Therapy, Aromatherapy and a number of other other holistic treatments. Not eligible for payment by some health savings programs are massage and acupuncture, since they are now considered “conventional medicine”. Check your policy for details or talk to your Human Resources professional. NOTE: new IRS guidelines have removed all these items from eligibility for payment with HSA’s and FSA’s.
